Yoga

Every student has a 45 minute session of a customised program depending on the age of the student. The session includes a mix of yoga postures, brain boosting movements, breath exercises, visualizations, mindfulness activities, creative movement and community-building games. This is focused on physical, social, emotional, and attentional self-regulating strategies and skills, developed to systematically cultivate well-being, resilience and lifelong learning.

Yoga not only provides a supportive, non-competitive and inclusive form of physical exercise that is fun and empowering but the benefits of yoga go well beyond the classroom. VIS was the first institution to acknowledge the importance of introducing yoga at an early age to its students and making it part of the curriculum.
